Episode 17
Notes[edit | edit source]
- Micchi's ring is still reacting to the Zeus ring, though it's slipped off Kirika's finger and seems to be inactive now. Kirio's ring is the same. Kazune says Micchi's ring glowing may be a reaction to Kirika's strange ring before collapsing.
- Karin's family photo is shown in shadow, so we can't see the face of her "father"... though we can already see that the child clearly isn't Karin. Oops. The full photo shows everyone's faces, unlike the manga version, possibly because the flashbacks have the shrouded-in-secret aspect for these people covered.
- What does the writing on the back of the photo say?
- Kirika talks about being adopted into the Karasuma family, with the shot showing a guy who may or not be Kirihiko holding a kid who's most likely their Himeka. Some aspects of the family tree were never made clear, so it is possible the Kiri twins were never blood relatives of Kirihiko... though that leaves the question of how they were named after him. This is apparently right before they learn about the rings, so them being under the care of Kirihiko makes sense.
- The image of the rings shown doesn't include Kazusa's Artemis ring, either because it's identical to Kazune's or because she's a minor character.
- Kirio picks up the seemingly dormant Zeus ring and is given a flashback of some parts of what happened last ep.
- Unlike the manga where Kazune apparently figures it out himself, Karin tells Kazune that Kirika's the goddess they faced a few times before.
- Kazusa's cryptic line today: "It seems the fog in your heart has cleared."
- Unless the subtiler skipped it somehow, Himeka doesn't actually say what Kazune's tell is (looking at the floor while he's lying).
Eel is delicious, nya! Nya nyi nyu nye nyo!
Analysis[edit | edit source]
This will be moved to the family tree page, but a path that would explain everything but might be convoluted or innacurate:
The twins are born to Kirihiko and his wife, named after Kirihiko, and taken with the wife when she divorces him soon afterwards (he was too wrapped up in his work, didn't really love her because of Suzuka, whatever). When the wife and her new husband die (possibly Kirihiko's work, possibly not) (it was never confirmed that Mrs. Karasuma remarried, but Kirika says "parents" plural in both works, I think), the twins are sent to live with the guy they don't know is their real father, along with the "half-sister" Kirihiko's been taking care of since he created her from the first Himeka.
