Episode 13
This episode originally aired on June 29, so if anyone happens to know Himeka's birthday...
Analysis[edit | edit source]
- Karin running from Micchi and Kazune may be a callback to the running scene in ep 1, or at least it's set up similarly.
- Kazune can't use the mystery ring, but writing appears on the inside one-ring-to-rule-them-all style, apparently in reaction to the Zeus ring. (It may be the Zeus ring reacting to the mystery ring, but Kazune seems to think it's the other way 'round.) The writing is illegible to the audience in this scene.
- Incidentally, there's some complete gibberish on the book spines there...
- The confusion over "come with me" and "go out with me" was foreshadowed with an added scene in the previous episode. Kazune, you really need to pay more attention to what you're saying, boy.
- And here we have the original eel scene, now preceeded by its preemptive callbacks. Or something.
- And Karin and Kazune buy one half of the moon necklace, which was apparently displayed and sold completely separately from the other half. Kirio and Kirika show up just as Karin and Kazune exit the shop, and walk into said shop at the end of the scene.
- Himeka and Himeka's birthdays are on the same day as or soon after the present-buying, unlike in the manga where Himeka 1's bday could be any time after Kazune got her the present and Himeka 2's bday is completely unknown. Judging by the candles, 1 is 13 and 2 is 11, at least in the anime (Himeka2 seems to be younger in the manga).
- Kazune returns Micchi's ring much earlier than in the manga, along with his only discovery- "When there is a full moon, the seal of the gods will dissolve." The Zeus ring continues to glow. The cresent moon is shown right after this.
- "We have no idea when the day of Aeon's collapse will be." Like, whut?
Analysis[edit | edit source]
"We have no idea when the day of Aeon's collapse will be."
Assuming this isn't just a major translation fuffup, Kirio could be refering to:
- A word with multiple meanings, including life or lifespan in latin/greek, or an archaic term for beings such as gods.
- Chronos, a god you're all familiar with who is apparently also known as Aeon
- Aion, a completely different time deity
- Aon, a son of Poseidon (probably not this one)
In context, he's referring to something about Himeka, regarding how long they have to tip the balance of power and make her healthy again- so it could mean the day whe she finally runs out of steam and dies/disappears, or it could mean the seal on her and Himeka1's powers breaking, which would be what happens in the last few episodes starting in ep 21 and what the writing in the mystery ring refers to. All interpretations of "aeon" point to something regarding time, however.
... It isn't possible Kirio somehow knows about the time thing Karin's caught up in, is it? He knew about the Light of Love in episode 11, something that was only named such in the future (ie Chu). None of his other behavior stacks with this, though, and that still doesn't explain what it has to do with Himeka.
