Big lipped alligator episode the second! Not nearly as insane as ep 8, but still... out there.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Kazune's show, Fuyu no Donata(?!), is apparently a reference to the show Fuyu no Sonata, based on a K-drama of the same name. It... just look at this description.
    • Yoo Jin falls in love with Joon Sang as a young girl. After losing him in an accident, she decides to marry her childhood friend. However, Yoo Jin meets someone looking exactly like her lost love, putting her in a bind.
    • Either that or he's watching a Hetalia doujinshi...
  • The fish painting thing Q puts up on the wall is seen in at least one later episode. Also, given the man's apparent love of fishing, he may have painted it himself.
  • Kirio apparently knows what the Light of Love is, though Karin doesn't. Kazune doesn't show any signs of knowing, either.
  • Is that the red cloth from ep 8?... The fate of the cloth is unknown; Micchi takes it at one point but it's last seen on Karin and Kazune.
  • During that... awkward dancing scene, Karin has a pseudo-flashback like the one on the stairs in ep 4 (and in the manga). "It's as if I've been with Kazune for ages." This sort of thing is as far as the foreshadowing went in the manga, but I think this one was added in the anime?
  • Unlike in the manga, the Light of Love ends without any fanfare.
  • It might just be a translation snafu, but Kirio apparently refers to Karin and Kazune collectively as "Light of Love"...
  • And the episode ends with the reason for the rings sticking together, and the reason for them separating, still unknown.

Speculah[edit | edit source]

If that is the red cloth from ep 8, there's two paths of causality I could see here...

  • The cloth ended up pulled into the Labyrinth because it was involved in a significant event relating to the "future" (ie the Light of Love incident). It's still unknown what caused the incident with the rings here in the first place.
  • The cloth itself was involved somehow in pulling something from the "future" to the present (and causing Karin and Kazune's rings at that time to exhibit powers neither would normally have). I don't know if it being in the Labyrinth would be before or after that, though. It also wasn't there until after the rings stuck together; in fact, nothing in this episode alone indicates there's anything unusual about it...

It's unknown why Kirio would know about the Light of Love, since he never seemed to do as much research as Kazune had.

Further notes[edit | edit source]

This episode was based loosely on a bonus chapter in volume 4. Karin finds a box of unidentified God rings and gets herself and Kazune stuck together after messing with them. The chapter was apparently never meant to be canon, though it did inspire the Light of Love thing in Chu. No reference was made back to the chapter itself, though.
